WFW: A Quiet Heart

waitforGod

Psalm 131:2-3

I’ve kept my feet on the ground,
I’ve cultivated a quiet heart.
Like a baby content in its mother’s arms,
my soul is a baby content.

Wait, Israel, for God. Wait with hope.
Hope now; hope always!

WFW: Tree in Eden

treeeden

“Instead you thrill to God’s Word,
you chew on Scripture day and night.
You’re a tree replanted in Eden,
bearing fresh fruit every month,
Never dropping a leaf,
always in blossom.”

Psalm 1:2, The Message

Another shot Eric took when we were home in New York. Something about this photo just shouts, “Glory to God in the highest!”

I wish you a happy Christmas, blog friends.

May we be women who please him.

WFW: The Sound of Angels

4188962931_6fd87964a5_b

“The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:30-33

I was blessed to go home to New York this past weekend to celebrate an early Christmas with my parents, brothers and sister. We walked the city streets soaking in the Christmas cheer and I couldn’t help but notice all of the light.

This photo was taken by my husband (he takes most of the photos I use for WFW) in Rockefeller Center. I stood for a long while looking at this scene for the millionth time and was taken aback at what it represented for my heart this year:

The sound of angels delivering shocking news to a young, timid girl and a humble carpenter.

The sound of Everything that Is Holy coming to this earth.

The sound of He who is indeed great.

The sound of salvation.

The sound of trumpets played with joy.

The sound of Jesus.

His Kingdom will never end.
